  15 link together into a global social network which is free from central
  16 control. We are developing connectors to seamlessly communicate with many
  17 other open social networks and providers - GNU-social, Diaspora, Status.net,
  18 and even some of the larger closed services such as Facebook and Twitter.

  29 are straight-forward and simple, because we know that relationships rarely are

  34 A single instance of Friendika Server can easily support hundreds of (and up to
  35 several thousand) people using commodity hosting hardware. Each of these
  36 people are able to connect with potentially hundreds or thousands of friends
  37 and associates on any other supported network anywhere in the world and share
  38 photos, links, status updates, etc.

  41 Friendika may also be closed off from the global community and used to support
  42 social networking amongst corporate, educational, religious, and other private

  47 "public profile" which can be seen by anybody. Additional profiles may be
